Justice Kristy

Everybody has a different point of view about justice. Humans from long time ago established societies and agreed about laws and justice. However, justice is always subject to debate because everybody sees it based on what they believe in. I believe without justice the world would be a jungle where the strongest will eat the weakest; the innocent is the criminal and vise- versa.
In order to be fair people need to use their highly thinking skills and not their emotions. Thus, the people that represent the authority want make mistakes and put innocent people in jail. Unfortunately, most of the time the judges and the juries are not fair in their verdict; they will judge the innocent as guilty and sentence him or her to jail.
In addition, there are many people in prison that did not do any thing wrong; their only mistake is that that they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. They will not let them free only if someone from their relative succeeds in reopening the case again, or when they find the right one who committed the crime. At this point they will free the innocent one from jail. But that poor person lost many years from his/her life behind bars. Is the juridical system fair by locking innocent people behind bars?
Further more, by Damien Fletcher “The thirty years Sean Hodgson spent behind bars looks certain to stand as one of longest miscarriages of justice in British history. But how many more are locked up, hopping and praying their name can be cleared in the same way as Hodgson? He is preparing to walk free next week thanks to new techniques using DNA evidence. His lawyer Julian Young believes is case could open the floodgates for many more convicted of serious crimes.” what this means is that till now there are many innocents in jail waiting for a miracle like this to free them.
in conclusion, justice is a way to be fair and human without it the whole life cycle will collapse and chaos will govern the world. I believe that every body should contribute to help establish a system that is fair and clear. And to accomplish that we should start changing ourselves to be more fair and not selfish or judgmental

Forth of July Kristy

Fourth of July is a special holiday for Americans. It is a day where they celebrate their freedom from the United Kingdom. There are many ways which American people show their Joy in this glorious day such as watching a parade, cooking a lot food, and fire works.
For Instance, the parade is a nice gathering place were people stand up in both side of the street to watch it. The parade is a big combination of colors, art, and people performing different kind of music and dances while their walking. Watching the Fourth of July’s parade became my family tradition since we moved to United States of America.
In addition, I organize a big dinner to my family and friends. My husband does the barbecue while I bake a nice cake and decorated with the American flag frosting. My friend Amal always brings Lebanese salads “fatouch” and her famous kafta with vegetables dish. My kids and her kids play all day long. I like holidays because during this days you hear the laughter of kids and smell the juicy mouth watery food that we eat joy.
In conclusion, the fourth of July in very social events where people gather to have fun and celebrate. I like it very much because I associate it with a loud patriotic music and a the happiness in the air that everybody enjoys that day. The American people deserve to celebrate this day because they worked so hard to get their independence from the British as Franklin D. Roosevelt said “I n the truest sense, freedom cannot be bestowed; it must be achieved.”

Discussion question/ pg127-128 Ms.Rosemary

Discussion Questions
1- My parents’ parenting style was authoritarian. We were seven kids in my family, four boys and three girls. My parents were very strict, but loving. They set up rules for us to follow, and we did not have the right to argue or question their authority. We were rewarded if we follow rules and help out at home. This style did work very well for all of us because we turned out to be responsible, educated and respectful to ourselves and others. Now, I am a mother of three wonderful kids. And I am doing my best to use the authoritative style with my children. I believe it is the right parenting style to raise healthy, responsible, and open minded kids.
